Cambridge 2019 ✅ Another brilliant annual pilgrimage to Cambridge, the city that gave the world some of its best thinkers, and our new social sec @robrunton After a questionable display in the pool we earned our pride dressed as an array of Tube stations in the local spoons. Just how we like it #goingunderground . . (Also to all our fans we won London League Round 1 last week 🥇)

Thank you to everyone who came to one of our GIAG sessions/ socials!! We’ve had a blast 🏊🏼‍♀️🎉🏊🏼‍♂️ - PLS NOTE: Starting tomorrow, monday 14th (or after trials for competitive), you will have to buy membership to attend. This is available through the union website under the swimming club page (link will be posted on facebook if you’re lost) - and we will be checking so pls make sure you do this asap!!! Today, our final meet the committee! Meet Lizzie, @r.lizzie , our Welfare Officer and last years Swimmer of the Year after she pulled off a flying move from fitness over to competitive. If she’s not quoting Brooklyn 99 or the Peep Show then that must be because she’s in the pool! Its fantastic for the club to have her as our Welfare Officer as we couldn’t hope for a more dedicated person in the role. In our Community Outreach role this year we have the fantastic Ros @rosabel_97 I have no doubt she’ll be extremely dedicated to the role! Finally, meet James, @james._armitage our social sec, the whole club can rest easy knowing that this year’s social events are in good hands, and that we should have another great social year ahead. Today, meet the dreamiest of dream teams, the Fitness Captains, all three of them are known for their globe trotting experiences, but they come together best as a team in the pool. When Alex @alexfarmer5 isn’t busy flying off to every corner of the earth and adding to his already upsettingly high carbon footprint, you can always find this keen bean attending every training session - making him a great addition to this year’s fitness captain team. Brooklyn @brooklyn_hooooo is perhaps best known for his constant choral singing in the changing rooms and hopefully he’ll be able to channel this energy into enthusiastic swim sets. Finally, Eloi @eloidc our man from Brussels, is known for his solid commitment to the pool and brings another excellent perspective into the Fitness Squad. Alex Harmer, @alexfarmer5 Fitness Captain Course: 2nd year History Best moments: Definitely Loop and swim tour to Malta Why join: No better place to keep fit and have a great time Brooklyn Ho @brooklyn_hooooo Fitness Captain Best moment: the nice acoustics for opera singing in Holloway School pool Why join: I couldn't find anything to do on Wed afternoon and Thursday Evening Eloi De Clercq, @eloidc Fitness Captain Course: 2nd Year Electronic and Electrical Engineering Best moments: End of year tour Why join: Get to meet amazing people from all backgrounds whilst keeping fit

Our two competitive captains this year are perhaps best known for their contributions towards their own 100% success rate in the London League competition and at Varsity, granted they’ve both only been here for one year but this still represents a great achievement. This year’s women’s competitive captain, @_rebeccaa_h marks the second in a row to be named Rebecca, and she’ll no doubt live up to the reputation of her predecessor – with an equally brilliant attitude in the pool, she’s always prepared to step up and swim the 100m fly. Our men’s competitive captain Justin @jsemenkoff is certainly keener at writing superb swim sets than he is at coming on nights out, but this should translate into another great season in the water for him and the team.
